Sea and Nature
Up one level
The islands
Ankazoberavina, Antsoha and the Needles of Ankivonjy form a small archipelago of extraordinary beauty. Ankazoberavina is the largest of the two islands:14 hectares of uninhabited paradise located in the Bay of Nosy Be. Antsoha is a desert island of 2 hectares located 1 mile from Ankazoberavina, with an unspoilt forest and a stunning white coral beach. The zone between these 3 islands and up to 500 metres from their coastlines have been declared protected zone by the Malgash authorities, who have awarded the guardianship of this important environment to the organization Nature Sauvage.
The sea
The sea around Ankazoberavina and Anstoha are the home to an incredible variety of marine life: fish, coral, shells, sea anemones, and starfish. This small archipelago was declared to be a protected zone in 2006, and placed under the care of Nature Sauvage.
The forest
The integral forest of Ankazoberavina, an island off the coast of Madagascar is the setting of Nature Sauvage’s Eco-Village. In the midst of this typical Malgash forest you’ll find numerous travellers’ palm trees, the symbol of Madagascar, and an abundance of fruit trees: coconut, mango, banana and papaya, which provide the food base for the island’s colony of lemurs. The mangroves in the bay north of the village are a testimony to the splendid uncontaminated nature of this environment.
The animals
The islands of Ankazoberavina and Antsoha are populated by a great variety of animals: a colony of lemurs, chameleons, hedgehogs, flying foxes, sea turtles and numerous species of birds native only to Madagascar, amongst which is the fisher eagle of Madagascar
North Madagascar
Nature Sauvage’s Eco-village is an excellent base for touring and visiting the North of Madagascar. This region offers the visitor a wide variety of mountainous and marine landscapes of extraordinary beauty, such as the Rock Mass of Ankarana, the Isle of Sainte Marie and the Diego bays
