Bungalows
Each bungalow is spacious and comfortable (8 x 4 mts.) made from local wood – rosewood, mangrove, ravinala and bobo. There is a comfortably large bedroom with a double bed, a convenient walk-in wardrobe/changing room, a large bathroom with all facilities and hot water, and at the front of the bungalow is a covered verandah overlooking the beach. Above this verandah is a mezzanine floor with two children’s beds, accessible from a ladder in the bedroom. The interior and exterior décor of the entire village is the work of Malgash craftsmen using local wood and building techniques. Each bungalow is shaded by coconut palms and other tropical plants, nicely distant from the neighbouring bungalows and less than 20 metres from the sea,.
The water supply comes from a spring on the mainland. Transport to and from Nosy Be and the nearby islands is guaranteed by the Eco-Villages’ small fleet of boats. The village is powered by 220 volt electricity with standard wall plugs, but the verandahs are not illuminated in order to not disturb or frighten the giant turtles which regularly come to lay their eggs in the sand in front of the bungalows: Guests will have to be content with the natural light from the moon and stars when outside!
It is possible to phone from the island using GSM cell phones with international roaming capabilities.
